Mission Sustainability Initiative
http://myforefront.org/msiIf your organization is considering a long-term or permanent partnership, such as a co-location, back office collaboration, programmatic alliance, joint venture, merger, or other strategic restructuring, please contact the Mission Sustainability Initiative (MSI).
The Alvin H. Baum Family Fund proudly supports the MSI, a program of Forefront. The MSI creates a neutral space to help Chicago area nonprofits evaluate the possible benefits of a strategic restructuring, get the help they need to design their new organization, negotiate and implement their partnership, and access funding to help support the process.
The MSI provides:
- Confidential, friendly, and helpful conversations with nonprofits thinking about strategic restructuring, with advice on accessing information and assistance
- A repository of toolkits, research, and best practices along with educational events
- Referrals to pro bono legal assistance and experienced paid consultants specializing in nonprofit strategic partnerships
- Grants (on a sliding scale from $5,000 to $75,000) for one-time, out-of-pocket costs incurred in assessing organizational readiness for, exploring, or implementing a strategic collaboration
